I find it very sad because the Bijou was once considered one of the best resturants in town.and this same owner had worked very hard his whole life to achieve high marks. The sad part is, the owner was in the house at this empty restaurant during our lunch. The chicken was dry and stringy, presentation average. She ordered the chicken pailard, once a delicious signature dish at the Bijou. My Salad Niscoise was not the "traditional " salad that the menu promised but had onions, sliced pitted olives out of a can,red peppers and bloody tuna.where were the green beans? The waiter disappeared after delivering our meals. We had to search for him to "discuss " the food that was dropped off at our table. He offered my friend another choice of meal. The portion was miniscule and looked like shoe leather, was obviously overcooked. We decided to give it another try, hoping that the previous visits were just a quirk. I have eaten at the Bijou 3 times over the past month and a half always having a less than perfect meal. We are proud to introduce a seasonal menu with an emphasis on fresh local produce and sustainable, abundant seafood. We decided to have a "girls " luncheon at what was once a favorite spot because of its ambiance and delicious cuisine. The Bijou Caf is also committed to helping preserve the well being of our planet.
